Vadnagar is a small fortified town located about 110 kms from Ahmedabad. There are two beautiful Torans or arches just North of the walled town. These torans are around 40 feet tall and built of red and yellow stand stone. Both the torans have beautiful carvings of dancing girls, series of animals like elephants, battle and hunting scenes. It is believed that these were erected to commemorate victory in a war. Vadnagar is an ancient city has many attractions worth seeing. If you are planning to visit Gujarat it is worth planning a trip including Vadnagar, Motera Sun Temple and Patan and other attractions all of which were built during the Solanki dynasty from 10th to13th century.
